Yeah, i'm Erik and I host and compile the show. "Playful exhuberance" has nothing to do with the politicaly / socially charged commentary that the crust/d beat punk scene is about. This is a genre of punk that you either love or hate, there is no in between. You will not find any "green day, or blink 182 here".
Oh, I'm not talking about Green Day or Blink 182. I'm talking about The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, even the Dead Kennedys. You can't tell me that those bands are all apolitical, but they certainly didn't take themselves very seriously, which I consider an important factor in the punk to which I listen. You and I just appreciate and are interested in different aspects of punk, and I respect your enthusiasm and your dedication.

I don't get it. I guess I never really understood hardcore. Too much thrash metal influence. It lacks the playful exhuberance of true punk rock.
yeah, playful isn't the first thing that comes to mind here.
